VESAM Group was chosen for the structural rehabilitation of The Sandomil Palace in Lisbon.
This is building date to the second quarter of the seventeenth century, at that time property of Count of Sandomil, not having sustained major damages in the Lisbon great earthquake of 1755. This palace national interest lays in two compartments on the noble floor: A rectangular saloon, located in the northeast corner and a living room next to it. On both, stands out, artistically speaking, the wooden ceilings both plastered exhibiting decorative paintings from the author Pedro Alexandrino.
The whole intervention in this building and its new supporting structure follows the two main premises, rehabilitation and conservation of this heritage and the new architectural program.
VESAM’s intervention in this project starts with the redesign of connection and ending with fabrication and erection of the main steel structure.
